Family Strength
Family Strength is an innovative evidence-based intervention for parents and/or carers who are experiencing abusive behaviour from children (aged 10-18) in the family. For children over 18, see Inner Strength.
- Sessions: 10 (flexible)
- Programme delivery: Zoom (one-to-one)
Intervention programme for parents and/or carers who are currently experiencing, or have experienced abusive behaviours from a child within their home. Alongside this, we work with children (aged 10-18) who are currently, or have in the past, been coercive or verbally aggressive towards their parent and/or carer.
Family Strength helps children to understand and manage their behaviour better and provides the skills necessary to manage emotions, conflict, and to reflect on what they want out of life. Family Strength helps parents and/or carers to manage distress, understand how their past experiences may be influencing their life currently. They will learn skills to manage distress, problem solve, reflect on what they want out of life, and develop the tools to manage conflict and explore options for their future.
